BEES believes in people’s
participation in the development process. Training becomes one of the key
components of the development activities of BEES. It is proven that the
potentiality, knowledge, attitude and practice of people lag behind because
of the absence of enlightened and trained people. Training adds perfection
to any intervention. It is an essential input to bring a positive change in
the sustainable development. BEES is developing a paramount of capable and
skilled people at the grassroots level.
Realizing the training needs, BEES has been actively upgrading its training
mechanism as an important tool for building institutions. BEES conducts
specific on-the-job and skill-oriented training courses to develop a skilled
workforce both at staff and beneficiaries level.
BEES
has been organizing different training courses within its own capacity by
giving due importance to the needs of staff as well as its group members.
Training courses are planned, designed and arranged as per the need and
priority. During the training courses, knowledge and skills are transferred
to trainees as they go through teaching and learning exercises in the
classroom and practical experience in the filed as well. BEES appreciates
the process of sharing and mutual learning through participatory approach in
conducting courses. Relevant training methods are carefully selected on the
basis of the level of the participants’ knowledge and skills.
Objectives
To build up capacity of
the recipients and staff to reach the goals of poverty alleviation and
empowerment of the rural poor.
Achievement
During the reporting
period, a total of 2,390 target beneficiaries received training against the
annual target of 3,000 which marks 80% achievement. Among the recipients 87%
were female and only about 13% were male.
On the other hand, in
regard to the training of program/project staff during the reference period,
a total of 939 staff received training on different issues through a total
of 66 training courses against the annual target of 1,250 staff, which
indicates slightly over 75% achievement. Among the total trainees 73% were
female and 27% were male.

BEES principle allows to
train from the senior management staff down to field level staff. Most of
the training courses in both of the cases were arranged and facilitated by
the BEES trainers. Some senior and mid-level personnel of BEES received
training on different program related fields from other training institution
within the country during the period.
