BEES has a strong inclination to serve the hard-to- reach rural poor. With this intention BEES has already started implementing the project "Financial Services for the Poorest" In 39 villages of 4 unions In Madhabpur Upazila of Hobigonj district. The broad objective of the project is to make further contribution to poverty alleviation. The poor who do not have land or house of their own, have to live from hand to mouth and are far away from getting any credit support are covered under the initiative.

BEES undertakes various income generating activities to assist the hardcore poor. Moreover, BEES provides them with motivation skills development training so they can become self-employed. The activities are; cottage industry based on indigenous materials (e.g. bamboo or bamboo cane, hogla, cane, mat etc.), livestock & poultry rearing, tailoring, nursery development, small shops to sell retail products, bi- cycle & rickshaw repairing shop and; other feasible activities.

Besides, BEES has started implementing a program titled "Housing Project" in 1999 in Nobinagar and B. Baria Sadar thanas of B. Baria district with the financial assistance of Bangladesh Government through the Bangladesh Bank to provide house to the ultra poor homeless people. Under the project, BEES has so far made and handed over a total of 200 tin shed houses along with sanitary latrines to 200 homeless families.
